Nørrebro Bryghus, a brewpub...

I guess the first question is: what is a brewpub?

A brewpub is a microbrewery, which also serves food or is combined with a pub/restaurant operation.

Logically the second question is: what is a microbrewery? Well, check out on Wikipedia ;-)

Back to the subject matter. I haven't been at Nørrebro Bryghus probably one year or so, but when I go there, I'm always satisfied. This was a special occasion so enjoyment was amplified.

Nørrebro Brewery is founded by Anders Kissmeyer a former Head of Department at Carlsberg and believe me, this guy know a thing or two about brewing a world beer!

We had 8 course tasting menu paired by 8 course beer menu (9 SMALL glasses):

Sugar salted scallop with smoked marrow foam, pickled mussels and sea buck-thorn...

garlic soup...

my friends Dame and Tony...

cassoulet of pork shank boiled in porter, served with cherry pure and goats fromage...

view on barrels full of beer...

Fish of the day served with rosti, celery pure and tomato concasse. Finished with browned butter flavored with truffle. Simply delicious!

Brest of cockerel with creamed potatoes, peas and spinach...

cheese...

wood sorrel sorbet served on wheat kernel porridge and berries...

and... now we are seriously full... Apple Mazarin with NY lager, chocolate and hazelnut ice cream. Done!

Everything was tasteful and amazingly paired with a glass of beer.

A
completely different experience and reasonably priced; dinner from about 50€ to 120€ per person, including beer menu.

Highly recommended.
