Madklubben - or as they call it: Bistro-de-luxe

The other day I went into Madklubben for a dinner. This is a quite interesting place where one can actually create his/her own menu. Of course, “building blocks” are fixed. For example, first, one can choose between 1, 2, 3 or 4 course menu, and than, one can select dishes from multiple choose lists like starters, main dishes, etc. The wine list is also adequate with decent number of wines served per glass.

Main course: Beef from Himmerland with onion bouillon; the texture is a bit too chewy for my taste, and also a bit plain, but still tasty.

This place is definitely cozy and unpretentious, but for some reason is more steak orientated, instead, for example, toward more creative variations of Scandinavian cuisine.

Anyway, at about 70€ per person, including a bottle of a nice Italian Amarone, I guess it quite good. One should not forget that the price can go down to 30€, if one selects different main dish, different wine, etc.

Sounds like a food-concept that goes well with the contemporary mindset (which desires everything resembling personal, individual but at the same time easy service). However, I am missing a couple of examples from the other 'building blocks'. What else was there to choose from? C.

The “building blocks” are divided in 5 categories: Starters, Main Courses, Side Dishes, Cheese and desserts, where each category has two or more options.

For example, I’ve ordered: 3 x beder (puree - crisp - baked - lots of cress) as a starter, beef from Himmerland as a main course and some heart salad as a side dish.
